After hospitalization, Gary Kubiak won't coach the Broncos' next game
Broncos coach Gary Kubiak is home from the hospital after being admitted following Denver's loss to the Falcons Sunday, but he will not be heading to the team facility anytime soon.
Broncos general manager John Elway announced Monday that Kubiak, who was sent to the hospital with flu-like symptoms after the loss, has a positive prognosis, but that he will be getting the week off.
The Broncos play the Chargers in San Diego on Thursday night.
Special teams coach Joe DeCamillis will be the acting head coach in Kubiak's absence. Kubiak is expected to return to the team following Thursday's game.
"The process for Gary is to worry about Gary this week," Elway told reporters in Colorado Monday. "Everybody on the staff could have taken (the interim job), that's how good we feel about our staff."
According to the Broncos, Kubiak was diagnosed with a complex migraine condition that caused extreme fatigue and body weakness Sunday. Kubiak's doctors suggested the coach rest this week.
.@johnelway: Coach Kubiak (complex migrane) will take this week off. Interim coach will be Joe DeCamillis.
