49ers' Vernon Davis leaves with concussion

Published Dec. 24, 2012 3:47 a.m. ET

San Francisco tight end Vernon Davis is out of Sunday night's game against Seattle with a concussion after getting hit along the sideline by Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor.

Davis was attempting to haul in a pass deep in Seattle's end late in the first quarter Sunday night.

Davis caught the pass but was immediately knocked off his feet by Chancellor, jarring the ball loose. Davis was slow to get up, was examined by doctors on the sideline and eventually taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Davis had one catch for 27 yards in the first quarter. He was held without a reception when the teams played in October.

The 49ers also lost wide receiver Mario Manningham to a left knee injury in the third quarter when he was hit low by Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill and fumbled before he hit the turf.

Manningham was on the ground for several minutes before being helped off the field and being taken to the locker room on a cart.
