49ers' Tomsula: Still no change in day-to-day status of Hyde

Published Nov. 30, 2015 5:07 p.m. ET

The status of San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde remains murky.

Coach Jim Tomsula, at his Monday media briefing, said nothing has changed since Hyde last stepped foot on the field in a 20-3 loss to Seattle on Oct. 22. The second-year running back remains day-to-day while dealing with a stress fracture in his foot.

Hyde was expected to practice in each of the past two weeks but it never came to fruition. He initially suffered the injury in a loss at the New York Giants on Oct. 11 but played in the next two games before sitting out the last four contests.

Asked if the team is considering pulling the plug on Hyde's season and whether surgery is an option, Tomsula did not rule out anything.

“All of that’s been on the table since the beginning," Tomsula said. "I listed to the doctors and medical staff on where we need to go with that and the best course of action. Right now we’re day-to-day with Carlos and finding out exactly what that foot is responding to.”
