Zach Randolph gets standing ovation in first game back since his mother's death
During the first quarter of the Memphis Grizzlies' 96-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, Grizzlies veteran Zach Randolph returned to the court for the first time since his mother, Mae, passed away on Thanksgiving day.
As he ran onto the court, the Grizzlies faithful inside The FedEx Forum gave Randolph an incredible, rousing ovation:
Randolph's frontcourt running mate, Marc Gasol, couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the moment as well:
Following the victory, Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale spoke about the moment and expressed his compassion for the whole situation:
Randolph spoke to the media after the game about his mother's passing and what the moment meant to him.
