Wizards schedule about to get serious: 'We've had vacation'
The Washington Wizards are 6-4 and in decent enough shape considering Bradley Beal's missed some time with a shoulder injury.
But the team's schedule is about to get serious, and now more than ever they need to really embrace the small-ball tactics they entered the season hoping to deploy. Here's more from The Washington Post:
The Wizards aren't favored to win any of their next five games, per Basketball-Reference. There are tough road encounters with the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers, plus dates with Paul George and the Indiana Pacers, and the hungry Toronto Raptors.
It's time to see what this team is made of.
“The season hasn’t even started yet, you know that, right?” Wizards forward Kris Humphries said Monday. “Have you looked at the schedule? The season starts tomorrow. We’ve had vacation almost, really.” After 10 games in 27 days (one every 2.7 days) to start the season, Washington will play the remaining 72 over 141 days (one every 1.96 days) until the regular season concludes on April 13.
