Wilson Chandler's recovery lasting longer than expected

Published Nov. 11, 2015 4:50 p.m. ET

Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler hasn't been able to take the court this season, as his recovery from a right hip strain has taken much longer than initially expected.

Originally, Chandler was only supposed to be sidelined temporarily. Instead, he's missed every game and has been unable to practice.

The Nuggets signed Kostas Papanikolaou to help fill the void at forward.

Here's more from Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post:

“I know that they are exhausting every and all option to try to get him back,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “Obviously, he’s been out for a while. We miss having him. He’s a big part of what we’re trying to do.”

Chandler has not played in the regular season, missing all seven games to this point. He has not practiced, either. Chandler initially thought it would be a two-week process to get him back on the court, but now says he’s no longer sure when he’ll be healthy enough to play."
