What did Nate Archibald tell Isaiah Thomas about playing in Boston?
Isaiah Thomas is the most dynamic player on the Boston Celtics. He can score from anywhere and make those around him better. Once upon a time, that same title went to another tiny guard named Nate Archibald.
The two recently met, and Thomas was shocked when the elder Archibald already knew who he was. Here's more on their interaction, per The Boston Herald:
Archibald was a truly special playmaker, the last player to lead the NBA in assists and points in a single season. Thomas has talent, but that's something he'll never do. Instead, Boston's Sixth Man of the Year candidate has the opportunity to lead the Celtics into the playoffs, and really make some noise.
Despite being only 5'9", it's something he can definitely do.
“I told him the good thing is, you’re younger than I was when I got there. But I was blessed with the best fit I had ever had in basketball on that team. I’ve watched this team in their exhibition games, and I know what he can do for them. Be flexible and versatile. You’re there to manage the game and manage the team. Know the other four guys on the floor."
