Watch: Diante Garrett pump fakes free throw, chaos ensues
By Darren Hartwell
The NBA’s Summer League can get a little slow at times, but Diante Garrett did his best to keep everyone on off their toes Thursday night.
Garrett is a 26-year-old point guard playing on the Chicago Bulls’ summer squad. In the first quarter of Chicago’s game against the Toronto Raptors in Las Vegas, Garrett went to the free throw line to shoot two, but apparently decided to just troll everybody instead.

Ah, the old-fashioned free throw pump fake.
The move clearly worked, as players from both teams rushed the paint for the rebound and were understandably baffled when a basketball failed to appear before them.
The move is illegal, as the NBA rulebook states a player cannot “purposely fake a free throw attempt.”
Garrett got away with it though, as the referees didn’t whistle him for a violation and allowed him to shoot the free throw, which he made after everything was reset.
Chicago went on to win 84-80, while Garrett finished the night with 11 points and one bold free throw pump fake.
