Warriors Media Day signifies beginning of title run
The annual Golden State Warriors media day marked the beginning of their championship run.
The Warriors were finally together for the first time on Monday, when the team had their annual media day. With the addition of Kevin Durant and several other veterans, it was the most popular media day in the NBA. It of course is the day where everyone is interviewed in full uniform and they stand and do poses for the camera. Durant and Stephen Curry got plenty of time together as one would expect.
It also goes beyond that as well. It signifies the beginning of the season is near with the preseason set to begin after a brief training camp. All the talk currently is about who will make the final roster spot. Now, it shows how good the Warriors are when that’s their biggest problem in training camp.
The title run gears up now for the team. This is the time where they will get it together and go on a bit of a parade around different cities during the preseason. While the stars may play little or not at all, they showed a bit of focus with their smiles on Monday.
They know their is one task at hand and what they have to do to get there. This isn’t about setting a record number of wins, it’s about winning a championship. Draymond Green iterated as much at the media day.
That took a bit of their focus off the goal at hand last season and it ultimately cost them. This season, they know where the focus is and where the focus lies. It all starts now and it’s time for Steve Kerr to begin working with his new rotation.
