Warriors' Green: Thunder's Durant one of game's best trash-talkers
Draymond Green is the authority on trash-talking. The Golden State Warriors' human Swiss Army Knife is one of the game's premier trash-talkers -- he's unafraid to mix it up with everyone from Doc Rivers to the entire Cleveland Cavaliers franchise -- and people care about his opinion on who the game's other motormouths are.
While appearing on ESPN Radio's "Freddie Coleman Show", Green said Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant -- yes, the quiet, polite and reserved Durant -- was among the best in the league.
"You know who I always thought (was a great trash-talker), but has been under the radar, I think Kevin Durant,” Green said, as transcribed by Anthony Slater of The Daily Oklahoman. “Lotta people don’t know that. But if you play against him you know."
The natural response is what exactly does Durant say? Is there anything specific?
"KD makes you feel bad about yourself, that you ever talked junk,” Green said. “It’s the funniest thing in the world."
Durant can back up his trash-talking, of course, and has done so against Green. He's averaged 28.5 points against the Warriors since 2012, which includes his career-high 54-point explosion against them during his 2013-14 MVP season.
"Me and KD have had our battles over the course of my three years in the league," Green said. "But when he end up with (54 points), it ain’t much you could say back at that point."
Perhaps Kevin Durant really is not so nice.
