Wade late scratch from Heat lineup, enters off bench

MIAMI (AP) Dwyane Wade did not start Friday night for the Miami Heat against the Dallas Mavericks because of an illness, coming off the bench for just the 10th time in his 13-season career.

Wade experienced flu-like symptoms shortly before the game, after going through his usual warmup routine. He was listed in the team's original starting lineup, then was swapped for Tyler Johnson in the opening five.

Wade checked in for the first time with 7:46 left in the second quarter.

He has missed only one of Miami's 32 games this season, and that absence was because one of his children was hospitalized with an illness. This was Wade's first time as a reserve since Jan. 26, 2014.
