Van Gundy tumbles into stands on Garnett hit

Published May. 23, 2010 3:44 a.m. ET

Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy knows what a hit from Kevin Garnett feels like.

Van Gundy tumbled backward into the front row when Garnett, chasing the ball, was shoved from behind by the Magic's Matt Barnes in the third quarter of Saturday night's playoff game against the Boston Celtics. Garnett barreled into the coach, who was standing by his bench.

Van Gundy quickly got to his feet and Barnes was charged with a foul. The contact came with 7:50 left in the third quarter with the Celtics leading 56-38.

Boston won the first two games of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals. Game 4 is Monday night in Boston.
