UPDATE: NBA rules Kyle Korver did not travel, Nene's screen legal late in Game 4
Atlanta Hawks fans, rejoice! Washington Wizards fans, grab your pitchforks! And vice-versa!
The NBA released its official report on the officiating during the final two minutes of Atlanta's Game 4 win over the Wizards, and two of the most controversial plays were both deemed to be correct no-calls. On the first, the NBA ruled that Wizards big man Nene Hilario did not set an illegal screen on Atlanta's DeMarre Carroll as Paul Pierce lined up a potential game-tying 3-pointer:
"Nene (WAS) sets the screen on Carroll (ATL) and gives him the opportunity to stop and/or change direction," according to the report.
On the second, Hawks wing Kyle Korver was deemed not to have traveled on this play:
To quote the report, "Korver (ATL) slides when receiving the inbound pass. Players that fall to the floor while holding the ball (or stopping) may not gain an advantage by sliding. No call is made as no advantage is gained."
