Trail Blazers Hammered by the Clippers to End Win Streak
Trail Blazers win streak ends at 3 with a blowout to the Clippers
The Trail Blazers had a tough night on Wednesday night. They struggled from all aspects on the court resulting in a 111-80 loss to the Clippers. Their entire starting lineup had less than 10 points with 8 points from Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Maurice Harkless, 5 points from Noah Vonleh, and 4 points from Mason Plumlee. They only shot 35 % from the field and 20% from the 3 point line. Portland only had 50 points through the first 3 quarters. The Trail Blazers were stellar at the line though, shooting 85%.

Shabazz Napier led the Blazers in scoring with 11 points off the bench. He was second on the team off the bench with 21 minutes with Allen Crabbe leading with 23 minutes and 9 points. Even though it was a loss, we still got to see the majority of the team play and get some quality minutes against a good Clippers team, now 7-1.

Lillard had a shaky shooting night on Wednesday. He went 1-10 from the field and couldn’t convert on any of his 4 threes taken. His MVP campaign took a hit as it was the first really poor performance of the season. Blazers’ rookie Jake Layman put in 9 points, his second game after the 17-point debut against the Warriors. 4 of the five starters had a plus or minus of -25 with Vonleh only having a plus or minus of -7.
Portland will look to bounce back against the Kings this coming Friday. They will have to focus on getting their shooting percentage back to around 45% and making sure that DeMarcus Cousins cannot do much around the rim. Lillard will look to have a stellar night at home on Friday and so will the rest of the team. Things cannot go much worse than last night. The game tips off at 7PM Pacific.
