Tim Duncan will return at Orlando in final game before All-Star break
San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan will return to the lineup for Wednesday's game at the Orlando Magic, the final game before the extended All-Star break, the team announced.
Duncan had missed the last eight games with a sore right knee. The Spurs went 6-2 in that stretch with the most notable loss being the 30-point defeat at the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 25.
It appeared as though Duncan would continue to sit out through the All-Star break with the hope that he could return when the Spurs return to action on Feb. 18 at the Los Angeles Clippers. Apparently Duncan, 39, is ready to play and decided he might as well do what he can to help the Spurs go into the All-Star break with a six-game win streak.
The Spurs, however, could be without point guard Tony Parker, who is listed as questionable with a sprained left ankle. Sixth man Manu Ginobili remains out following surgery for a testicular injury.
Duncan, a 15-time All-Star, is averaging 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.
