Thunder's Kevin Durant says strained hamstring 'feeling a lot better'

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant, who is out while nursing a strained hamstring, said his injury is "feeling a lot better" when he met with the media before Sunday's loss to the Boston Celtics.

"Yeah," Durant, who was expected to miss seven to 10 days when he got hurt, said when asked if he was feeling better after a few days, according to The Daily Oklahoman. "Feeling a lot better, way better, actually. This time around I just want to make sure I'm fully healed and feel good about going out there again."

Durant said he's been in the weight room and on the training table getting treatment to help strengthen his hamstring, but has yet to return to the hardwood. He jokingly said he wouldn't be back until December, before clarifying the injury is a day-by-day affair.

"Who knows? It's a day-by-day thing," Durant said. "I think they said a week to 10 days and we'll look back at it. Once they look at it again, I just want to be 100 percent ready to play. Don't want to push it and be tough. Want to be smart about it."

Despite the unfortunate timing of his injury -- Durant has been dying to play as much as possible after only playing in 27 games last season -- Durant is keeping his head up.

"Just a minor bump in the road, unfortunate for me, but it's nothing to hang my head over," Durant said.
