Thunder's Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook still among All-Star voting leaders
As it currently stands, Oklahoma stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will both start in the 2016 NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 14 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
The second returns of the All-Star voting were released by the NBA on Thursday, and Durant and Westbrook were second in votes among Western Conference frontcourt and backcourt players, respectively.
Both players trail the the first-place vote-getter at their respective positions by a considerable margin, yet also led the third-place vote-getter by a considerable margin.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant (a league-leading 1,262,118 votes) has almost double the amount of votes as Durant (616,096) among frontcourt-eligible players, while the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry (925,789) is miles ahead of Westbrook (479,512) among backcourt-eligible players.
Durant has a sizable lead over Draymond Green (332,223) for second-place, though, as does Westbrook over Chris Paul (268,672).
As a result, it's safe to assume both Thunder stars are locks to start, and deservedly so.
