The Latest: Jury set for rape lawsuit involving Derrick Rose

LOS ANGELES (AP) The Latest on a lawsuit claiming NBA star Derrick Rose and two others raped a woman (all times local):

1:55 p.m.

A jury has been selected in Los Angeles federal court for the trial of a $21 million civil lawsuit by a woman who claims she was gang-raped by NBA star Derrick Rose and two other men.

The jury of six women and two men was empaneled Wednesday afternoon and opening statements are expected to begin.

Rose is not present but is expected to appear Thursday.

Rose commented on the case Tuesday in Houston where he was making his debut with the New York Knicks in an exhibition opener.

Rose said he welcomed the chance to clear his name and did not want to settle the case.
