The Daily Buzz: Wednesday, June 26

Tuesday marked Day One of the dog days of summer, now that the NBA and NHL have wrapped up their seasons. But it was hardly short on news.

In the NBA, discussion continues to swirl about who will go No. 1 in Thursday night’s draft, and across the league, teams are hoping not to draft a bust in the first round.

In the world of baseball, UCLA won the College World Series, the Yankees won on a walk-off homer, the Mets lost in walk-off fashion and Kerry Wood found a dead body.

On a different front, Aaron Hernandez was taken into custody early Wednesday morning more than a week after a Boston semi-pro football player was found dead near his home.
