Thaddeus Young's wrist seems just fine

Published Nov. 19, 2015 2:37 p.m. ET

Thaddeus Young hurt his wrist late in Tuesday night's victory over the Hawks. Luckily for him, it was his right one, his non-shooting one, and after falling on a drive to the basket with 1.4 seconds remaining in the game, he got back up and drained two free throws to win the game for the Nets.

Young had x-rays after the contest, which came out negative. He was back on the floor Wednesday against the Hornets, and though the Nets ended up losing to Charlotte, it wasn't because of Young or his wrist.

Young has been hot, hot, hot of late and has brought his seasonal averages up to 15.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. He is clearly one of the Nets' two best player along with Brook Lopez. Now, all the team needs to do is start winning games.

Young started Wednesday in Charlotte and poured in a season-high 27 points on efficient 11-of-17 shooting, with eight rebounds.

The $50 million forward has scored 26, 16 and 27 points in his last three games, and allayed any fears about a lingering wrist issue. How does he explain that hot streak?

“[Just] staying aggressive and playing off my teammates,’’ Young said. “That’s one of the biggest things I’ve been able to do, just play off these guys in this locker room and just continue to work. That’s the biggest part, continue to work and believe we can win every game.’’
