Stephen Curry has been unbelievable all season, but he keeps saving his best for last.
There are his many buzzer-beaters. The Warriors' regular-season finale, in which he dropped 46 points in three quarters, saw him hit 10 3-pointers to finish the season with 402 -- breaking his own record. It also delivered win No. 73 to break the Bulls' record.
There's his second straight MVP award, and the first unanimous selection in NBA history.
There are the playoffs —€” fast-forward to Game 4 against the Blazers, where Curry returned from injury and scored 17 points in overtime to give the Warriors a commanding 3-1 series lead. He didn't hit his first 3 until the final minutes of the fourth quarter, then he added four more.
Game 5 on Wednesday night, Curry finished the Blazers with his final 3 of the series, and it was just as magical as his charmed season.
Nursing a two-point lead in the final 30 seconds, and with a long defender in the 6-foot-9 Al-Farouq Aminu on him, Curry got separation with a behind-the-back dribble and hit a step-back 3 with a hand in his face to seal the game.
"The way Steph finished the game, that step-back shot to put it to a five-point lead was probably a shot only he can make," Coach Steve Kerr said.
It was the umpteenth time in the game that Curry burned a big who got switched onto him, stepping back behind the arc and lofting another big trey.
