Sources: Splash Bros. will face off in star-studded 3-point contest

Ever wondered what it would be like to see the Splash Bros. facing off as opposed to tag-teaming their way to the top of the Western Conference?

Looks like you're in luck. And sorry, rest of the West. Golden State isn't trading one of them.

League sources told Yahoo Sports!/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday that the Warriors' dynamic backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will both take part in the 3-point shooting contest during the NBA's All-Star Weekend in New York next month.

Joining them, according to the report, are Atlanta's Kyle Korver, Portland's Wesley Matthews and the Clippers' J.J. Redick. Six players are scheduled to take part in the event, slated for Feb. 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

If the names are confirmed, it will represent just about the best the league has to offer in long-range shooters.

• They are five of the top seven players in the league in total 3-pointers made (Matthews is tops with 138 made, three more than Korver).

• Korver is the league's leading 3-point shooter at a whopping 53 percent; Thompson (45.8 percent) is third and Redick (44.1) is sixth

• Curry has taken part in the event in each of the two seasons prior and was the leading vote-getter for the All-Star Game.

• Curry and Thompson are tied at 22.8 ppg; they are the leading scorers among the five players in Wojnarowski's report.

• Thompson is fresh off the greatest quarter in NBA history, 37 points on a perfect 13-of-13 shooting in the third quarter of Friday night's win over Sacramento. He hit an NBA-record nine 3-pointers in the quarter.

Marco Belinelli won the event last season.
