Shumpert returns to Knicks lineup against Bulls
CHICAGO (AP) New York Knicks swingman Iman Shumpert returned to the lineup for Sunday's 109-90 loss at the Chicago Bulls.
Shumpert missed five games after he sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during New York's 98-91 victory over New Orleans on Feb. 19. He finished with three points on 1-for-6 shooting in 19 1/2 minutes against Chicago.
Shumpert got the start at forward, alongside Carmelo Anthony and center Tyson Chandler. Guards Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton also were in the starting lineup for New York's sixth consecutive loss.
The 6-foot-5 Shumpert has struggled this season, averaging 6.8 points on 37 percent shooting in 53 games. But Shumpert, who is from nearby Oak Park, Ill., is considered to be one of New York's top defenders.
Anthony played with a sore right hand after he got banged up in New York's 126-103 loss to Golden State on Friday. The All-Star had 21 points against the Bulls.
