Shaq stumping for NJ Gov. Christie

Hope the competition has a big body and plenty of fouls to give, 'cause Shaq is stumping for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and woe to the person running against him.

O'Neal, who grew up playing ball at the Boys and Girls Club in Newark and recently teamed with Christie to open an afterschool program in Camden, filmed this TV ad for the Governor, who's up for re-election next week.

"I don’t endorse many politicians. But Chris Christie is different," O'Neal says in the ad. "He’s working with me to bring jobs back to our cities and on a new program to help kids in tough neighborhoods get ahead."

O'Neal adds: "He’s a good man. Excuse me, he’s a great man. Please join me in supporting Chris Christie — the Governor."

Polls show Christie has a strong lead on his opponent, Democrat Barbara Buono

Is this the beginning of a political career for O'Neal? He's already an honorary US Deputy Marshal.
