Roy to miss 3 games with sore knee

Published Dec. 17, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will miss the next three games because of a sore left knee.

The three-time All-Star also missed three games earlier this season with knee trouble, and coach Nate McMillan has at times limited Roy's minutes.

Roy is averaging 16.9 points per game, falling behind LaMarcus Aldridge in scoring for the Blazers. Roy's also averaging three rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

He has averaged 6.7 points on 24.3 percent shooting over the last three games - all Portland losses.

The Blazers host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

Roy will be re-evaluated next week.
