NEW YORK -- Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley will replace Washington Wizards guard John Wall in the All-Star skills challenge.

The skills challenge will be held Saturday night at Barclays Center as part of the NBA All-Star weekend in New York. Two players will compete simultaneously on an identical obstacle-course that tests dribbling, passing, agility and shooting skills.

The league announced Tuesday that Beverley will be paired against the Phoenix Suns' Isaiah Thomas in the eight-player challenge. Beverley is averaging 10.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in his third NBA season with the Rockets.

The defending skills challenge champion is Trey Burke of the Utah Jazz.
