Rip City Project's Daily Fantasy Guide: Trail Blazers at the Nuggets
Rip City Project gives you the rundown on who to buy for your daily fantasy lineup in today’s contest between the Trail Blazers and Nuggets.
The NBA has returned in full force and daily fantasy sports has returned along with it. Finding the right stars to place in your lineup is a good way to build a consistent winner, but identifying players who are underpriced is the key to separating your team from the pack. Today we will be looking for a couple of those players who are playing in the Trail Blazers’ matchup with the Nuggets.
We will be using FanDuel‘s pricing guide to judge players for today’s post. Check out their website to see if you are eligible to play in your area.
Trail Blazers Worth Buying
C.J. McCollum (SG) – $6,800
More from Rip City Project
Yes the price is a little steep, but McCollum is primed for a bounce-back game against the Nuggets tonight. Denver has talent on the wings, but nowhere near the defensive expertise that the Clippers possess. The former Lehigh guard has played well against the Nuggets since joining the starting rotation in 2015-16. He surpassed twenty-five points in two of his four outings against Denver last year, and it should be noted that one of the games in which he failed to reach twenty-five took place in last year’s regular season finale (McCollum only played twenty-seven minutes).
McCollum hasn’t missed from beyond the arc this year, but he hasn’t ventured out to the perimeter very often. Look for him to try and open up space when he is on the court with the second unit, which could result in big numbers from the three point line.
Maurice Harkless (SF) – $5,400
Harkless had a breakout performance against the Clippers on Thursday night, as he only finished behind Damian Lillard in points for the Trail Blazers. Investing in a fairly unproven player at this price is a considerable risk, but the reward could be huge if he matches his output from the other night.
Trail Blazers to Avoid
Mason Plumlee (C) – $5,300
Plumlee is coming off of a great game, but banking on him staying out of foul trouble in consecutive games could be asking for trouble. Tonight’s matchup isn’t as daunting as facing DeAndre Jordan, but Jusuf Nurkic has looked solid in the month of October. If he can stay on the court – he is worth the price. It would be nice to see some consistency before investing this type of money in his services though.
