Reviewing Manu Ginobili's 2014-15 season

Manu Ginobili had a down season, averaging the third fewest points of his career with the third lowest field goal percentage. But that's to be expected from a 37-year-old shooting guard who's suffered numerous injuries.

Here's San Antonio Express-News writer Dan McCarney with a deeper look at how Ginobili's 13th season went:

"A Spurs staffer said privately that Ginobili is only good in about one out of eight games any more. Or at least good as we’ve come to expect out of Ginobili, rather than the slightly above-average performer he generally was this season. That’s a harsh assessment, but not completely off the mark. He was somewhere between bad and ineffective in probably half his 70 outings, culminating with a first-round series against the L.A. Clippers in which he shot a miserable 34.9 percent. (To be fair, Ginobili also led the Spurs in assists.)"

There's a decent chance Ginobili retires before free agency begins, but if he chooses to come back, it will be interesting to see in what capacity the Spurs will have him. How much money will he earn and how many minutes will he play?

The answers to these questions may be a tough pill to swallow for one of the craftiest players in NBA history.
