Report: Wizards' Lewis sits after argument

Published Jan. 9, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Wizards forward Rashard Lewis pulled out of Sunday's game against the Timberwolves because of an argument with assistant coach Sam Cassell, CSNwashington.com reported, citing a team source.

The box score after Minnesota's 93-72 win at Verizon Center listed Lewis as missing with a sore right knee.

But the team source claimed Lewis chose not to play after getting into a dispute with Cassell before the game. Further details of the alleged clash were not known.

Lewis has averaged just under nine points and four rebounds with the Wizards, yet to claim a win since the start of the reduced regular season.
