Report: Timberwolves willing to trade Anthony Bennett
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Anthony Bennett has had an extremely rough start to his NBA career. The former No. 1 overall pick has looked like a total bust in two seasons of action, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers and then last year in Minnesota.
Now, it appears he may be traded for the second time in two summers, according to ESPN's Marc Stein:
"Sources told ESPN that the Timberwolves, who are widely expected to make Kentucky's Karl-Anthony Towns the No. 1 overall selection Thursday night, are trying to find a new home via trade from Bennett, who unexpectedly went No. 1 overall in 2013 and was acquired by Minnesota last summer from Cleveland in the Kevin Love trade."
Bennett averaged only 15.7 minutes per game last year, boosting his field goal percentage up to a measly 42.1 percent. He stopped shooting threes and became a better rebounder, but Bennett is still miles away from the expectations that come with being selected at the top of the draft.
It's unclear whether another NBA team will be willing to take him, and his rather expensive contract, on after what we've seen over the past two years.
