Report: Thunder keep Kyle Singler with a five-year, $25 million contract

July 2, 2015

Shooting is at a premium in the NBA, so the Oklahoma City Thunder made sure they locked up one of their top shooters – Kyle Singler – during the first day of free agency. Here's Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports with more:

"Kyle Singler has agreed to a five-year extension worth nearly $25 million with the Oklahoma City Thunder, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

Singler didn't play all that well after being traded to the Thunder mid-season, but the Thunder are banking on that being an aberration. Singler's not only a terrific outside shooter, he's an effective slasher and decent defender. Keeping him for $5 million per year, especially with the new, massive salary cap next season, is an absolute bargain.
