Report: The Phoenix Suns are 'dangling' Eric Bledsoe in trade talks
There was a time when the Phoenix Suns actually had too many point guards. Then they traded Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat and Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics, leaving Eric Bledsoe as the one, true starting point guard on the team. According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, that may not be the case for much longer, as the Suns have been throwing Bledsoe's name into multiple trade talks this summer.
"The Suns had talks with the Knicks about dealing the fourth pick for point guard Eric Bledsoe and the No. 13 pick, but Phoenix has not been limited to the Knicks in that regard. The Suns have been dangling Bledsoe in trade offers this offseason and are likely to continue to do so after the draft if Bledsoe is not moved this week, sources confirmed."
If the Suns did deal Bledsoe on draft night, one would expect them to take a point guard. Yet, aside from D'Angelo Russell and maybe Emmanuel Mudiay, there doesn't appear to be a point guard with the potential to be as good as Bledsoe, which makes this rumor all the more confusing.
