Report: Spurs trying to trade Parker
The San Antonio Spurs are in talks to trade three-time All-Star point guard Tony Parker for a high pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday, citing sources.
According to the report, the Spurs have spoken to teams including the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, who hold the fifth and seventh picks respectively.
Parker, 29, has won three NBA titles with the Spurs since joining as a first-round pick in 2001 and was named Finals MVP in 2007.
He struggled, though, as San Antonio was knocked out in the first round of this year's playoffs to the Memphis Grizzlies, and later told reporters in his native France that he felt Spurs' days of winning another championship were all but over.
If Parker was to leave, 25-year-old George Hill would be in the running to become Spurs' starting point guard. A 2008 first-round pick, Hill has also attracted trade interest from rival NBA teams for a back-end lottery pick, Yahoo! sources said.
