Report: Spurs acquire Ray McCallum from the Kings

July 9, 2015

When Cory Joseph left the San Antonio Spurs to sign a big-money contract with the Toronto Raptors, it left San Antonio thin in its backcourt.

The Spurs quickly responded by slipping a second-round pick to the Sacramento Kings for 24-year-old Ray McCallum.

It's just another case of the rich getting richer. Despite not shooting all that well in two years with the Kings, McCallum will provide a bit of athleticism as a promising third guard off San Antonio's bench.

And the stark environmental shift should raise those shooting percentages from the dungeon. Sacramento gets the absolute worst out of most its players. San Antonio gets the best.
