Report: Rose inks $260M sneaker deal

Chicago Bulls point guard and reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose has inked a 14-year, $260 million deal with Adidas, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday, citing a source.

News of the lucrative contract comes just two months after the 23-year-old signed a five-year, $95 million extension with the Bulls.

"Man, it's a blessing," Rose said of the Adidas deal. "It's definitely a blessing.

"They've been with me since the beginning and stuck with me and I'm happy I'm a part of them for the rest of my life.

"They've been doing everything promotional-wise to make sure they put me out there, marketing me great all over the world. That's all I needed from them."

The source said Rose agreed to the deal in principle in December but did not sign the papers until Friday in Orlando, Fla., where he is making promotional appearances for Adidas over the All-Star weekend.

"Of course we've been trying to get it out of the way for a long time," added Rose. "I just remember them bringing it up to me and I couldn't really think about the amount. It was crazy."

Rose said the huge figure would not change his approach to the game.

"I know that with the way that I play and how hard I work, I know I should be fine," he said.
