Report: Paul to stay with Clippers

Published Jun. 29, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Chris Paul appears to be staying put in Los Angeles.

According to a report on ESPN.com, the point guard's representatives have told teams interested in signing Paul that the free-agent-to-be will remain with the Clippers once the NBA's free agency period begins at 12:01 a.m. ET Monday.

According to the report, Paul was most likely going to stay with the Clippers, but the signing of Doc Rivers as the team's new head coach and senior vice president of basketball operations clinched his decision.

While Paul was expected to stay in LA, the ESPN.com report says Paul had entertained the idea of going to the Atlanta Hawks with fellow free-agent-to-be Dwight Howard.
