Report: Pacers waive Toney Douglas

Published Oct. 26, 2015 4:01 p.m. ET

The Indiana Pacers have waived guard Toney Douglas, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Pacers had a cluster of combo guards -- George Hill, Monta Ellis, Rodney Stuckey and Joe Young -- and with 16 players on the roster, the team needed to make a cut and Douglas fit the bill.

It's unclear if the Pacers will make any more cuts before or during the season, as Glenn Robinson III, Shayne Whittington and Rakeem Christmas were on the borderline as well. Each provides value in the front court, though, and has a potential to earn rotation minutes.

Douglas, 29, has career averages of 7.6 points, 2.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds, shooting 40.5 percent from the floor and 35.2 percent on 3-pointers in 309 games.
