Report: Nets sign Shane Larkin, bring in fourth poing guard
Shane Larkin spent this past year losing a lot in New York. Apparently, he was perfect OK with that.
Now, the former Knick has signed with the Nets, per Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:
Here are some thoughts on the signing from the ever-brilliant Devin Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game:
Larkins struggled with the Knicks this year, but he's primarily a pick-and-roll point guard. New York didn't run a bunch of those sets, and Larkin, in many ways, looked out of his comfort zone. Maybe with the Nets that can be a little better, considering Brooklyn ran loads of screen-and-roll at the end of the season when it made its run to get into the playoffs.

That deal will likely come out of the team’s taxpayer mid-level exception. The Nets still have the remainder — a little over $1.5 million — to use on another free agent if they wish.
The second year comes with a player option, Wojnarowski reports.
The 22-year-old point guard out of Miami played last season with the New York Knicks, averaging 6.2 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 24.5 minutes per game. The Nets will be his third team in three NBA seasons.
Larkin brings the total number of point guards on the Nets to four, joining Deron Williams, Jarrett Jack, and Steve Blake. Teams normally do not keep more than three point guards on a roster, so Larkin could be insurance should the Nets find a way to deal one of their other three guards.
