Report: Mavs G Stevenson arrested
Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson was arrested near Dallas for public intoxication, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Stevenson, 30, was confronted by police at an apartment complex in Irving, Texas, Tuesday after residents said a drunken man was wandering around the complex.
According to the report, Stevenson told the officers he was lost. He was placed under arrest after reportedly failing a field sobriety test.
"(The officers) felt he was a danger to himself and others," law enforcement sources told TMZ.
Stevenson was released Wednesday morning after posting a $475 bond.
Stevenson was a key contributor during the Mavericks' run to the NBA title, which ended two days prior in Miami as Dallas won Game 6 105-95.
Stevenson played stellar defense on Heat stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James throughout the series, knocking down 13 of 23 three-point attempts. He is set to become a free agent July 1.
