Report: Magic eye OKC, Spurs for GM

Published May. 26, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

The Orlando Magic have targeted Thunder vice president and assistant general manager Troy Weaver and Spurs assistant general manager Dennis Lindsey in their search for a new general manager, Yahoo! Sports reported Saturday, citing sources.

The pair have emerged as serious candidates to replace Otis Smith in the Magic's front office, and Orlando has already been granted permission to speak with Weaver.

Sources said the Spurs were set to grant permission for Lindsey to talk to the Magic, while Orlando had also received permission to speak with Oklahoma City's assistant general manager Rob Hennigan.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Friday that former New Orleans Hornets general manager Jeff Bower would be interviewing for the job as well.

The Yahoo! report said Magic CEO Alex Martins would start meeting with candidates next week and that he planned to hire a new general manager and let them conduct the search to replace fired coach Stan Van Gundy.
