Report: Lakers trying to add both DeAndre Jordan and LaMarcus Aldridge
The Los Angeles Lakers aren't used to missing the playoffs; to do it twice was borderline bizarre. And in order to rectify the team's recent failings, the Lakers are reportedly swinging for the fences in free agency this summer.
According to Yahoo! Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles is pursuing trades in an effort to clear up maximum salary cap space to make offers to both DeAndre Jordan and LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Lakers could also benefit from a jump in the salary cap number for next year, reportedly of $2 million. But Los Angeles might need Jordan and Aldridge to take slight pay cuts in order to fit into the salary cap and still allow the Lakers to flesh out the rest of the roster after cutting so much salary in the first place.
It's all pretty unlikely, but the allure of Los Angeles makes anything possible. That's what the Lakers are counting on, anyway.
