Report: Lakers rookie Caracter arrested

Lakers forward Derrick Caracter was facing battery charges Monday after he was arrested in New Orleans, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The rookie was held early Sunday following an alleged altercation close to the Lakers' hotel.

Caracter has been on the inactive list through the playoffs and was again missing Sunday night as the Lakers lost 93-88 to the Hornets in the series-leveling Game 4.

The 22-year-old New Jersey native played 41 regular season games, averaging two points and one rebound off the bench.
