Report: Kings talking to Nets about trade for Deron Williams
The Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings are discussing a deal that would send point guard Deron Williams to the Kings, Yahoo! Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
However, no deal is believed to be imminent.
Williams, 30, is averaging 15.6 points, 6.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game in 25 games this season. As ESPN notes, he is owed more than $63 million through the 2016-17 season.
According to Wojnarowski, the preliminary plan calls for the Nets to receive point guard Darren Collison and forwards Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson in return for Williams. However, he adds there are a couple potential holdups: The Kings would like the Nets to include center Mason Plumlee in the deal (and the Nets have been hesitant to do so), and Sacramento is reluctant to part with Collison.
The 27-year-old Collison is averaging 15.6 points, 6.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game in 23 games this season.
