Report: Kevin Love more likely to join Lakers than Celtics
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is currently recovering from a shoulder injury that's keeping him out of the postseason.
Love is slated to become an unrestricted free agency this offseason, where he'll be free to choose where he wants to play, whether that be Cleveland or elsewhere.
While there's likely to be plenty of suitors for Love's services, two marquee franchises in particular are expected to roll out the red carpet for Love: the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.
According to a report from Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, however, the Lakers may already have a leg up on the Celtics in the chase for Love:
"The dream, of course, is that Kevin Love will opt out in Cleveland and hit the market this summer, where he would be the centerpiece in Boston rather than a role player with the Cavs. Not likely. If Love does leave the Cavs this year, he’s much more likely to do so in order to go home to Los Angeles and play for the Lakers."
