Report: Jazz's Booker broke nose in pickup game, had surgery
The Utah Jazz have a veritable stockpile of big men heading into training camp. But one forward has some recuperating to do before practice and workouts start.
The Jazz announced on Thursday that Trevor Booker suffered a broken nose in a pickup basketball game and required surgery:
Booker underwent a minor outpatient surgical procedure today to repair a nasal fracture, which he sustained in a recent pickup basketball game. The successful procedure was performed in Salt Lake City by Dr. Richard Orlandi of University of Utah Health Care.
Utah guaranteed the final year of Booker's current contract in July. The Deseret News reports that Booker will still make his scheduled appearance at his charity event on Saturday, "Booker's Breakfast Assist." Fans are invited to donate a box of cereal while meeting Booker and receiving his autograph.
He just might look a little bit different than the last time fans saw him.
