Report: Injured Iverson ready to retire

Allen Iverson's stay in Turkey — and basketball career — might be over.
Iverson, 35, recently injured his ankle and is seeking treatment in the United States and considering ending his playing career.
According to a translation of a statement to Ajansspor.com by Hoopsworld.com, the former Philadelphia Sixers' guard will announce Wednesday he will undergo surgery on his injured ankle in the U.S.
“Leaving the basketball world makes me sad but, sometimes, we have to accept things like they are. I can say goodbye to basketball,” he said.
Throughout his NBA career, Iverson collected some impressive hardware, including accolades such as 1997 Rookie of the Year, 2001 MVP, 11-time All-Star (and two-time All-Star Game MVP) and four-time NBA scoring champ.
