Report: Free agent Stuckey would prefer to stay with Pacers
The Indiana Pacers have a number of big roster decisions to make this offseason, although nothing will be set into motion until Roy Hibbert decides on his player option. Once ball gets rolling, however, backup point guard will be a major area for the Pacers to address.
Last year's option at the position, Rodney Stuckey, would be a solid choice to bring back, and he's expressed his desire to once again don the blue and yellow in Indiana. Via Tricia Whitaker of Indy Sports Central:
"Obviously, I hope to be back here and I think we’ll figure something out. I’m not really worried about that," Stuckey said while taking part in a charity miniature golf event. "I love the Pacers organization and I love my teammates. Next year, we will be a lot healthier and we’ll make the playoffs, so I’m excited."
Stuckey averaged 12.6 points and 3.1 assists in 26.4 minutes per game last season. His versatility could be valuable for Indiana, assuming the Pacers make good on their interest in playing faster next season.
