Report: Former No. 2 pick Michael Beasley headed back overseas
Michael Beasley hasn't had a consistent role with an NBA team since he came off the bench for the Suns in 2012-13. It appears that trend is going to continue into this season.
From Sportando:
Michael Beasley is signing with Shandong of the CBA. Beasley has played last season in China before returning to the Miami Heat who did not pick up the option on his contract for the 2015-16 season.
Beasley averaged 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 2014-15, though he played in only 24 games for the Heat last season. Somehow, more than seven years removed from hearing his name called second in the 2008 NBA Draft, he's still only 26 years old. So, he has some shot to make it back in the league, but it's anyone's guess as to how likely that is at this point.
The Heat have given Beasley multiple opportunities, signing him on for each of the past two seasons. And if he can't turn himself into anything other than a score-first, score-only player under the mentorship of Erik Spoelstra, Pat Riley and one of the best organizations in the NBA, how would he be able to do it anywhere else?
