Report: Dwight Howard called cops after LA fan hit him in head with a ball

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 1:24 a.m. ET

It's no secret Dwight Howard isn't the most loved guy in Los Angeles. When the Rockets came to town to play the Clippers this week, fans made it clear that he wasn't welcome at Staples Center — he was booed every time he touched the ball.

To top off being blown out by the Clippers, TMZ reported that Howard was hit in the head with a basketball by a fan as he walked to the locker room.

Instead of going all UFC on the guy, Howard did what taxpayers do and called the authorities to hunt him down.

The fan, reportedly a 22-year-old man, was detained by security and ultimately ejected but not arrested. The man said he was only trying to get an autograph from Howard and the ball just ... slipped out of his hand.

Yeah right.

Well, Dwight, at least now you know to bring a helmet with you when the Lakers host the Rockets on Jan. 8.
