Chris Bosh should be back for the start of Miami Heat training camp.

After missing the latter part of each of the last two seasons due to blood clots, Chris Bosh is still pushing to get back on the court, but the Miami Heat have been hesitant to clear him to play until now.

The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson is reporting that “it would be surprising if Bosh isn’t cleared to play” in the next few weeks.

There is growing optimism about Chris Bosh being cleared by the Heat to resume his career while remaining on blood thinners, according to a union source.

Bosh pitched the Heat on playing late last season, while taking a new form of blood thinner that would be out of his system in eight hours or so. The Heat resisted that approach at that time but is now more open than it had been to Bosh playing while on blood thinners, according to the source.

Whether Bosh would be able to play in every game, such as the second set of back-to-backs, remains to be seen.

But barring a setback in the next few weeks, it would be surprising if Bosh isn’t cleared to play.

Jackson reported previously that there has been a growing frustrating on Bosh’s part about the Heat’s hesitation to clear him. He recently went on a social media blitz to let his fans know that he can indeed play.

Things started changing around the time Heat owner Micky Arison’s see you in training camp tweet, the two sides reportedly started working on a solution. According to Jackson, Bosh should be cleared to play by training camp.

That would give the Heat an opening night starting lineup of Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters (who will likely start in Josh Richardson’s place until he returns from an MCL injury), Justise Winslow, Bosh and Hassan Whiteside.
